We Did It.

We bought a house.   Of course we still have to get through inspection, so it's not over yet, but barring any unforeseen catastrophes, we bought a house.  AND {this is the best part} I looooooove it.  It's a 95 {ninety-five!} year old, 3-story Victorian.  {My brother is shaking his head right now}.  On the outside it reminds me a little of my paternal grandparents old farm house--which I loved.  I'm really going to miss the city so I'm so excited to have a wonderful, drafty old house* to look forward to.  Here are some pictures.

*It's actually not even drafty--new windows!  But serious props to anyone who knows what movie that little snippet is from....

  9. I can't believe it. You have a house! What a great one. I can't imagine going from a small Manhattan apartment to that. I love it.

    "it's this old house.
I don't know why we don't all have pneumonia.
    This drafty old barn!
Might as well be living in a refrigerator.
Why did we have to live here in the first place
and stay around this measly, crummy old town?"

  17. Hi, it's Michelle AM from MMW. Heather O said she'd forward our contact info to you. Feel free to call or email.

Thanks for your comment on my blog. Will you be in the Western Hills ward? That's the only one DH and I can think of that has Western in it. It is a neighboring ward of ours; we're in Fairfield. It is reportedly a really good ward. We know some wonderful people, as do our kids, though I'm not totally familiar with the entire ward. Our stake pres is wonderful!!

Your house is beautiful and you will love this area!

  21. Shut up! Why don't they make houses like that here in California? That is so exciting Miggs!

  22. Thanks all! While I wasn't super excited about Cincinnati in the beginning, I have to say the mid-west is where it's at for affordable and cool houses. We were in Ohio for almost a week and I think I saw maybe 5 newer looking homes...the rest were old homes full of charm.

Britty--So funny you say that because I kept making that same comment to my realtor "as much as I love California, you'd never see houses like this out there."
