On the Farm

My grandpa Fred sent me this picture a couple of days ago--I've never seen it before and I love it!  That's me sitting on the tractor--nick-named Daisy--next to my dad {nice short shorts Jim!} with my blondie, shirt-less brother standing over me.  Which one is my grandpa?  He's the one in the red shirt and the aviators.  Yeah, he could pretty much pass as Robert Redford in that picture.  {Standing next to him is my uncle Nick and the boy behind my brother is my cousin Ryan.}

3 of my 4 parents {step-parents included} hail from western Nebraska... serious farm country.  My grandpa Fred was a farmer and I know my dad always believed he would farm as well.  I lived in Nebraska from ages 4-10--definitely the best years of my childhood.  I love seeing pictures like this and wondering what happened that day... how did we come to climb up the tractor and who decided to take a picture?  Anyway, just a little slice of life from my childhood.
Thanks Grandpa Fred!

  2. I think that I mentioned that my hubby was raised in Nebraska and Kansas?

    And I can vouch---he is an amazing person!

  3. Hey, you were totally rocking the shroom haircut! I bet that tractor would do really well in a chicken race, a la "Footloose", but only with "Holding Our For A Hero" playing in the background!
