Love for Elder Wirthlin

Last night the oldest living Apostle of the LDS church, Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin, passed away {news story here}.  Elder Wirthlin was 91 years old.  As seems to be the case with most Apostles/Prophets he was active and hard working until the very end, as he was in his office working just yesterday morning.  I can't tell you how much I love Elder Wirthlin.  After he spoke last conference, Elder Jeffrey R. Holland was the next speaker and started his talk by saying {with a little catch in his throat}, "Within the ranks of the general authorities of the church, there is no man more beloved than Joseph Bittner Wirthlin.  We praise him for living the sermons that he preaches."  I believe it.

You can listen to some of my favorite talks from Elder Wirthlin here:

  1. His talks are amazing. His delivery wasn't very dramatic, so sometimes I didn't get the full effect until I would read it. And then I would be blown away. I actually found out about his passing from you! His last talk in conference was so beautiful - I was crying through all of it.

  2. I had no idea that he passed away. I as well loved those talks that he has given. Thanks for letting us know.
