This and That

Beanie finally got a new crib.  She was in a mini crib for a long time since that's all that would fit in our old place.  However, now that we've graduated to 2 bedrooms, the little one has graduated to a bigger crib... she was almost touching head to toe on both sides of her crib...so we made the leap and it was a good one.  I'm loving this crib and bedding that we purchased from (you don't know how much it hurts me to type this) Walmart.  I hope I haven't let you down, but it was just so cute and since I can't afford the Oeuf version for a couple grand I justified putting another small town out of business by patronizing that evil (but very affordable) conglomerate.  So sue me.

In other news I'm LOVING where Gilmore Girls is headed these days.

Rory + Jess = 4 Eva!

I love them together...don't get me wrong I feel very bad for Dean--he's a good guy and didn't deserve what Rory put him through--but Jess....ah Jess...he's the guy I should have had a crush on in high school.  Please don't ruin this for me by telling me about their eventual breakup or anything...I just want to bask in the giddy excitement of a high school romance that even John Hughs would envy.

Lastly I'm listening to the new Mates of State album as we speak.  This picture might actually be from our friend and photographer Seth... yeah he just photographs famous people and stuff...no biggie.  I mean I photograph famous people too, I just think he has their permission. (Um am I breaking a copyright law posting this pic?  I found it off google...let me know if we're stepping on some toes here Seth).

Anyway, the jury is still out on the new album...I hear they added more instruments and the songs actually (gasp) make more sense than some of their older stuff....call me old fashioned but I was fine with the cryptic lyrics and circus-like sound...but we all gotta evolve right?  Who am I kidding I'm sure I'll love it.

Happy Monday and if you're in the city try not to melt.

  2. My sister bought that crib and the 3-drawer Parklane dresser from Walmart. She swapped out the bulky wood legs for Ikea's 4" Capita legs and voila, an Oeuf look-a-like. Gotta love Walmart for knocking off the designers. They even made it out of real wood as opposed to Oeuf's "eco-friendly" pressed wood stuff. Much more durable.

  4. I love that crib! I saw it on ohdeedoh and was impressed. You know, I'm not so into the whole modern look because I'm more traditional, but I would seriously buy that crib. So stylish! Walmart...who knew. Unfortuately, I've never gotten into Gilmore Girls. Have you watched Alias? I don't know if I'll ever have a love affair with a show like I did with the first...four seasons.

  5. darling crib. I understand why people don't like Walmart, but dang, it is so affordable. Can't argue with that.

  6. Love the crib. I went to Walmart yesterday and nearly had a panic attack due to the hugeness and the low prices. Ah--suburbia!
