The Move

We're here and oh so happy. It went well. My father in law flew out for a couple of days just to help us move. He was a maniac and pretty much moved us single handedly. Thanks Randy. We're also grateful to our church friends who also came to help us move all the big stuff. Thanks everyone, we couldn't have done it without you.

I was a little misty-eyed seeing our old apartment all naked and bare, just the way it was when we first walked through that door 2 and 1/2 years ago. I remember it like it was yesterday. We were 2 weeks into our marriage, moving to a new city and stepping into a new life that suddenly felt way too big for me. I remember exactly how it felt and how everything looked and it was strange seeing our apartment that way again. It brought back a lot of memories. For the first time I felt a little sad to be moving on..... That is until I came back to our new apartment with 5 (five!) closets and 2 bedrooms and more cupboard space than I know what to do with and was like "Oh yeah, this place is WAAAAAAAY better than that old dump." I'm over it.

And I'd like to report that last night I slept a solid 7 hours of uninterrupted, blissful, sweet-nectar-of-the-gods sleep. It was heaven.

Well that's all for now. I've still got lots of unpacking to do and seriously I don't think I've ever been so happy to move in my entire life.

  1. I can't wait to see the new place, sorry again that we weren't there to help.

I'm so glad to hear that your new place is as great as you imagined it to be. My hope is that this fall I can actually come see it...well actually I want to see you guys, but you know what I mean.

  3. I didn't even know you were moving. How did I miss all this? More room for house guests now? Seems like a trip is in order soon! love you

  4. I'm very excited for you. Def post some pics when you get a chance!
