In Loving Memory

Last night our beloved Prophet, Gordon B. Hinkley, passed away at the age of 97. I am happy that he has been reunited with his darling wife who died a few years ago and whose passing affected him greatly. He missed her very much and spoke of it frequently. I don't necessarily feel sad for his death, but rather a reverence and gratitude for his life. I can't comprehend the weight that was on his shoulders as the Prophet of a worldwide church for over 11 years. It would have been a rigorous undertaking for someone half his age, nevermind a man in his 90's. He will be missed by many. He was a righteous man and an example of true Christianity to all. He will be remembered as a Prophet who brought the church into a worldwide focus, and of course the unprecedented building of our Temples. On a personal note, if I could share just one message of President Hinkley's, it would be one of my favorite talks entitled The Women in Our Lives.

  1. That's a favorite talk. I remember when he gave it I was BAWLING for a good portion of it. What a man.

  2. Also! President Hinckley spoke at stake conference (the new televised version)a couple weekends ago. He gave this fantastic talk that addressed the topic of women in the church. I don't know if there is a way to get a hold of this talk, or if he gave similar talks for other stake conferences, but it was a good one. Ok, enough from me.
