The Lady in White, part II

So we watched The Lady in White last night. . . mixed emotions. I'm glad I gave a disclaimer about the cheesy special effects, but it was even worse than I remembered. I think the movie has some really, really good stuff in it and the scary stuff--especially THE scary scene--is still just as creepy and frightening and the acting is spot on. . . but there are just so many little things that almost ruin this movie for me. If I hadn't seen it as a kid it would have been hard to keep going.

The other thing is that the plot seemed easier to follow this time, like "Oh OK, I guess they DO say that in the movie I just didn't catch it as a kid." But apparently it was still subtle enough that B didn't catch it and I had to explain some things to him.

So I just wanted to say that. . . if you decide to watch it and you've never seen it before, beware. The special effects and even some of the cheesy family relations can make you go "huh?" and if some of the plot details are confusing just keep going and you'll eventually figure it out.

  1. Watcher in the Woods scared me as a child because the girl in the mirror was blond I thought she might come after me or that it could happen to me too.
