Family Album: Road Trip

We FINALLY got our dad back after all his hard work with the boards and oral surgery stuff and so we decided to go on a road trip. B had to take some of the youth in our ward up to EFY in Amherst, MA. . . . so we got ourselves a rental car and a hotel room and called it a trip. Being new to the world of road tripping with kids we were a little worried about how the bean would do, but to our surprise she did great! She did so well in her car seat. She even feel asleep in the car on her own a couple times and because we've been doing some sleep training with her, she's also been sleeping better at night. She was such a trooper being dragged around all day and napping on the go. And her cuteness was at an all time high, as you're about to see. Here are some highlights from the trip.

Tuesday Morning we went on a hike along the Robert Frost Trail. Dad and the babe (on the road less traveled. . .)

Dad and the babe again. . . look at that little grin.

We tried to make it look like she was sitting all by herself, but yes, that is her dad's arm holding her up. I love this picture . . . it's rather Kermit-the-Frog-esque.

Not the best picture (mom looks haggard and it's a little blurry) but I think the bean looks super cute. I love her little smile.

We also went to a butterfly place (sanctuary?) and while I wouldn't say it was worth the entrance fee, it was cute to watch the bean looking at all the butterflies.

Some of the best pictures on the trip are when we took her swimming for the first time. She loved the water . . . took to it like a duck. Here she is getting her swimming suit on. Someone looks excited!

About to get in the pool with mom and we're equally excited!

So her favorite thing was splashing her hands in the water, then sticking out her tongue to lick up all the water she just splashed.

On the way home we decided to hit the town of Mystic, Connecticut. . . otherwise known as the town for the backdrop of Julia Robert's first big movie Mystic Pizza. Anyway, we went to the Mystic Seaport, which is a historic place that has a lot of boats. Like, OLD boats. It was actually pretty cool . . . we were on the last wooden whaling ship in the world. The last one. In the world. Anyway, we took some pictures. Here we are by a lighthouse.

And B at the helm. Aye, aye captain! (She's sleeping, not suffocating).

Well that was our little family road trip. It was fun and hopefully there will be more to come.
