Baby Stuff

I finally finished my first real quilt. (I made one once before, but it doesn't really count). It's a baby quilt and I'm just excited that it's done in time. I started a while ago and initially I thought I would have time to make 2 or 3 quilts . . . but it was a slow step-by-step process since I really didn't know what I was doing. Luckily I had Julia to walk me through each step. She was essentially my quilting teacher. Anyway, I thought I would post some pictures of the quilt and some other crafty things I made for baby these past few months.

Here's a pic of the whole quilt. To be honest, I wish I would have done some things differently, but it still turned out well.

A close up.

Another pair of baby booties. Again, you can get the pattern for these at Martha Stewart.

And a little lamb made from an old sweater. This is also a Martha Stewart pattern, but I couldn't find it online. . . it was in the November 2006 issue. So if you have that issue, or know where to get one, you can check it out there.

A close up of my little lamb . . . I mean of the baby's lamb.

  1. It almost kills you to give such lovely things to a baby! There were thing that I ended up not even letting Guille come near because they were too beautiful (bad mom.)

    You're almost there, aren't you?

  2. Dang girl, I'm impressed. Very cute things. You are quite the domestic mother!

  3. Am I correct in saying you are due any day now? I'm very excited for you and Bracken! Good luck with everything!

  4. Thank ya'll . . . yeah B likes to remind me "one blow out and that thing is gone." Oh well.

  5. Very cute. All of them. I have many aspirations of things I want to make/create, and still have yet to make any. ugghh. Thought I'd share blog with you of a girl who makes these booties, and there is a free pattern on the side of her blog. They are called 'bitty booties

  6. This has nothing to do with your post but Foop is engaged. I told him I'd let you know.

  7. What??? Are you serious? To a girl in Seattle? That's great. . . tell him I said congrats.

  8. Yep to a girl who he met in Seattle--not sure if she's from there. She moved to Utah for work after they started dating, but just moved back to Seattle and they got engaged the week she moved back. She's a tall, blonde identical twin. They're getting married in June...I think.

  9. I love the color combination in the quilt. I love when other colors are thrown in the mix with the traditional girly pink. I have become fond of pinks though.

I started an amazing flower garden quilt with my husbands swedish grandma last year. I did three flowers and then we were moving so just went with it.

It is now a queen size quilt top.

I still have a dream to do one on my own.

The lamb is darling. Perfect sweater.

  10. Thankfulness to my dad who informed me relating to this blog, this website is really amazing.
