Sick.

Like everyone else across the continental United States, I've been sick. Thus, no new posts. End of story.

Anyway, I doubt any of you are all that interested in my new coat, but when you live in a place that's known for mind numbing wind chills, a new coat is a big deal. I'm so confident in this coat that even with 9 months to go I'm going to go ahead and declare this one of my top 5 best buys of 2006. And I think there is one feature even you, trusty reader, will find quite exciting. That's right, the snorkel hood. Here I am modeling said coat in various stages of bundling:

Thumbs up to my new coat!

It's getting a little chilly, I better zip up.

My ears are getting cold, time to pop the hood!

It's getting super cold and windy, time to zip up all the way for full Snorkel Hood coverage protection!

Full snorkel side view.

Seriously, it's like another world in there. My own little cave. It's a little dangerous with such limited peripheral vision, but luckily B's a good shepherd and keeps his little lamb from straying into oncoming traffic or open stairwells.

  1. Amy...the snorkel hood is fantastic! So fantastic, that I might buy one today. Bracken...because of all your coat harrassment, I have increased my coat closet by 5 additional selections this season, so my gray Patagonia is no longer what I wear EVERYDAY.

  2. Vanny-

I have never been so happy for you. My eyes thank you. Just be careful...Amy's coat is made with real coyote fur...I know...but the tag informed us that it's "NOT AN ENDANGERED SPECIES." Still...

  3. oooh, PETA might have something else to say about that. As much as I love Coyote fur....I think I'll take the safe road and get a snorkel hood with the fur of the snow leopard.

I know this post is old, but this is an awesome coat! How often do you zip the hood into full snorkel mode? I am thinking of getting this coat so I can stay warm and invisible if I “snorkel up”. Thanks

Amy I love your photos of you fully snorkeled. I love snorkel jacket's and have a collection of about 20 snorkel jackets I love wearing mine with nothing underneath it so you are snuggled in to the soft lining.again great pic's
